Duolingo force feeds language learners with political correctness in its language examples. I find this confusing and it makes learning more difficult because I am thinking more about why this example has been used than the learning.
Here’s the latest, in the German course. The sentence to be translated reads . . .
My grandpa is coming to the party with his husband.
To make it even more confusing this is accompanied by a female character.
Are they serious, where did the grandpa’s children come from to be able to produce the speaker in this example. Does anyone at Duolingo review these, or is it all AI generated?
I use Duolingo, but there’s no way I am going to pay money to be subjected to brainwashing.
