Was Gordon Brown telling the truth
Friday, 11 July 2008 10:48

Gordon Brown told the House of Commons 'the majority' of drivers would benefit from the changes to car tax. Now it turns out that the government's own figures show that nearly half will be a lot worse off, and not by a small amount either, by 245 pounds in many cases.

This is pure Labour spin and economy of truth. Same thing applies to the abolition of the 10p tax rate, Gordon Brown and his minister said that almost everyone would benefit and there would be virtually no losers. This was not true, otherwise those same ministers would not have had to find 2.7 billion pounds to fund a panic measure that will see everyone who pays tax benefitting but those one the lowest incomes still losing out.

Eleven years of stealth taxation, spin and economy of truth, misleading statements and bad government, what else can go wrong with this incompetent government?
