Do as I say, not do as I do

As the Labour government pushes ahead with its plans for compelling everyone in the country to carry an id card pilots are likely to the first to reject the idea and strike rather than carry the cards.

The government is trying to weedle the cards into everyday life by any means despite huge opposition from the public and their inability to protect personal data.

If the cards are introduced they will change everyone's life for ever, they might as well tattoo the identity number at birth or implant a microchip in new-born babies. There will always be ways to duplicate these cards, and our data will never be safe. We will be subject to every tighter controls and surveillance as thousands of government snoopers watch our every move.

Labour is the party of compulsion, banning, targets, high taxation and wasteful spending. Id cards show this more than any other measure.
