Rosetta Stone is safe where it is!

There is no point in even discussing the Rosetta Stone. It is safe where it is, in the British Museum, and accessible to anyone who wants to see it.

If it were 'lent' back to Egypt there is more than a  slim chance that it would never return.

You only have to look at how some countries 'look after' and 'preserve' their historical artifacts to know that other countries, like Britain, are much better at conserving them and giving access. A good example is the Caryatids in Greece. These statues were allowed to degenerate through neglect and pollution before action was taken. The one in the British Museum is quite safe - and likely to remain so.
