Sex tourism is not really a problem

Let's get things into proportion here and ask why a charity report is being hyped up and mass hysteria created.

This report highlights the fact that in the last two years 25 Britains have been arrested by foreign police for child sex offences.

  • In the first 8 months of 2008 22 teenagers were knifed to death in London
  • In 2004, 230 children under 14 died in accidents in the home
  • On average 30 people are killed on our roads every day

Disturbing as an average of one British person a month being arrested for child sex offences abroad may seem, it pales into insignificance when looked at with a sensible view. We would do well to look to our own country and inject a bit of reality and common sense into our thinking.
