A level results mirror tractor production

It's like a return to the old soviet days - Tractor Production is up again, meeting the targets to expand the people's need and exceeding the requirements of the 5-year plan.

For tractor production read A Level results.

If you look beyond the headlines there is a sinister trend, pupils are retaking A levels to improve their grades, and this ridiculous situation is being encouraged to the extent that more than 30% of entires are re-takes. It sounds like if at first you don't get an A just take it again.

This is a total waste of resources, it doesn't give universities any means of sorting out the wheat from the chaff (or should it be chavs!) when the candidates have taken the exam until they got an A.

This is a shambles and needs sorting out.
