Criminalise every dog owner
Tuesday, 09 March 2010 08:08
More state regulation for everyone instead of tackling the problem.
So everyone will have to insure their dog, in the same way that everyone has to insure their car? We all know that there are thousands of un-insured cars on the road and the government goes to great lengths to track their owners, but that's about tax, not danger. There is no tax revenue from dogs, so there is no money for enforcement. Nothing would be done and the very people who should be insuring would not.
This measure would not help anyone, no fewer people would be bitten or mauled, there would simply be prolems and no penalties.
The answer is simple, muzzle all dogs in public and bring back the dog license. The owner of any dog in a public place carries the license at all times and any dog without a license if put down.
The problem needs harsh treatment of bad dog owners, not the majority, however the Labour way is the criminalise everyone, employ more snoopers and jobsworths.
The tories are simply not telling us what we want to hear
Monday, 01 March 2010 08:23
The reason the Conservatives are having such a poor showing in the opinion polls is that they are not telling us, the electorate, what we want to hear.
There are major issues that are being ignored, what we should be hearing is:
- no immigration
- changes to immigration rules so no more dependants get in
- troops out of Afghanistan immediately
- cuts to dole and handouts to the 3 kids by different fathers brigade
- scrap political correctness everywhere
- bring back matrons to hospitals
- sweep away CCTV cameras and start trusting people more
- dismantle the independent safeguarding authority
13 years of Labour has produced a Britain that is strangled by rules and regulation, where people can't give next door's kids a lift to school without being regarded as pedophiles. This has to change.
Come on Cameron, start telling it like it is!
Eat seasonal foods
Monday, 01 March 2010 08:12
If you really are concerned about carbon footprints (which are simply scaremongering by government and the green gestapo anyway) the one thing you can do that will cut lots of emissions is to eat seasonal foods.
The supermarkets have made a fortune simply be providing us with out of season foods, strawberries all the year round, green pea pods in December and baby sweet corn in November. This is simple madness.
Food is grown on plants, which means that as far as the UK is concerned stawberries used to be available from about the first week in June, the season was relatively short and was then extended by strawberries from Scotland where the weather is a bit cooler and the plants cropped later.
Same with peas and other vegetables.
The public's demand for out of season strawberries is such that we have acres of glass houses being used to force the plants, huge quantities of fuel being used to heat them and in other countries production of strawberries and then sending them to the UK by air.
So, if you really want to do something that you can feel good about, leave the strawberries on the shelf, even when they are on a yellow label. That way you will do you bit and feel really smug.
