DEBATE:Should the armed forces be paid more?SENT:02-Sep-2009 13:36COMMENT:As I understand it, the roughly £12b raised each year through PAYE and income tax just covers the welfare state. Everything else gets funded from other taxes.

I'm fully in favour of the safety net for hardworking people and help for the genuinely disabled. But what we have is an underclass who have no intention of working. Ever.

Cut the benefits of these and equip and look after our armed services. Properly. COMMENT STATUS:Rejected
