What kind of fairness is Gordon Brown talking about?
Thursday, 25 February 2010 12:12

"A future fair for all" Gordon suggests, but the truth is far from it and whether Gordon and the Labour party like it on not life is not fair. Life never will be fair and to suggest that Labour can make it fair is to suggest the impossible.

Let's look at how well Labour is doing, Barclays bank profits for the last year were £11.6 billion, yes that's right, Barclays made £11,600,000,000,000 PROFIT. During the same period the Royal Bank of Scotland that is 84% owned by the taxpayer made a staggering LOSS of £3.6 billion.

That shows how well Labour can manage a business. While Barclays were making money hand over fist Royal Bank of Scotland were throwing money away like there was no tomorrow. In case you need reminding that's taxpayers' money.

Then to add insult to the loss of £3.6 billion, Royal Bank of Scotland is paying out an astonishing £1.3 billion in bonuses to its staff. So, we see a loss-making bank that is 84% owned by the taxpayer giving its staff £1.3 billion as a reward for losing £3.6 billion. If that is not throwing good money after bad please tell us all what is. This is incompetence of the highest order, people are organising coach trips to marvel at it!

Now another example of 'fairness of all' the senior managers who presided over the Mid Staffordshire NHS Trust scandal at Stafford Hospital have all escaped without being disciplined. You will recall that up to 1,200 patients died needlessly while managers chased targets. Patients were neglected in what can only be described as institutional negligence and incompetence, yet no-one is even disciplined. That's Labour's 'fairness' for you.

Gordon's idea of fairness is taxing people who work and giving the money to those who are idle or choose the production of bastard children as a career.
